The 2026 S2S Land-Atmosphere Interactions Workshop took place in the NCAR Mesa Lab during August 4-6th. Dr. Wang delivered the opening Keynote on “The Under-tapped Role of Land as a Source of S2S Predictability for Hydrometeorological Extremes”; former group member Dr. Yelin Jiang (currently at Columbia University) gave a talk on “Soil Moisture Preconditioning of La Niña-Induced Drought in the U.S. Southwest: Mechanisms, S2S Predictability, and Climate Non-stationarity”.
